It's also important not to eat a calorie deficit. Your body needs fuel to heal. Eating at a deficit after surgery will prolong healing.3

Nutrition isn't the only factor. Get plenty of rest, but during the day, go for mild to moderate activity. Definitely, be careful about any stretching or lifting!
