Change Diet for more Energy at the Gym

I've been trying to stick to a low carb/high protein diet for about a month now. I've had a few set backs on the weekends, but I'm definitely strick on the weekdays and ready to stick to it on the weekends too. My biggest problem I'm noticing is my drastic drop in energy throughout the day. I like to do the BodyPump and BodyCombat classes at the gym in the evening (I'm not a morning person) and I couldn't make myself go today because I was so exhausted even though I work a desk job all day. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what to add to my diet in order to boost energy. Could it be that I need to add more healthy fats to my diet? If so, what would you suggest but still be on the right track for weight loss? I'm definitely surpassing my protein goals everyday.

You may need more calories and/or more carbs.0

What are your macro's set at? People usually don't get enough fat on low carb diets but with that being said intense cardio is a bad idea on keto, walking sub 120bpm is all you need. If you want to keep up the intense cardio then I'd eat carbs preworkout, a banana might be enough for what you need, time to experiment.0

You don't need a low carb diet for weight loss. Any diet which creates a calorie deficit will result in weight loss. In your case, you've chosen a diet which is poorly suited for your workout/fitness goals and deprives you of what you need to fuel those workouts.2 -

I like to have a banana about 1 hour before I go lift. I often do cardio fasted. For more energy in the afternoons, I go for caffeine. Walmart has some good enegy drink packets sold in a 20 count variety pack (similar to Crystal light energy).0
