So I weighed in today and I gained 2 lbs. I totally thought I would have lost. I have been logging in all calories and the days that I wasn't under my calories I was only over by about 200 or so, so it would still be under by calorie limit to maintain my weight. I have been working out a lot (mostly cardio) and started the 30 day shred on Saturday. I can't imagine that I gained 2 lbs in a week. I know it might be muscle, but do you think it is possible to gain 2 lbs. in muscle in that short of time? I was kinda discouraged because I tried really hard this past week!

No. You can't gain MUSCLE in that amount of time but when you start a new work out routine that's more intense than your muscles are used to, they hold water to repair themselves. Obviously since you did everything right eating and working out, you couldn't gain 2 lbs of fat, so my guess is it's water. Don't worry. Your body needs to adjust to the 30DS and then you can see a loss.

water definately -- either from working out or from something salty in your diet.

The body needs 1 liter of water to balance out 1 tsp. of salt. If it doesnt get enough to flush out the salt the body will hold on to it.
