I've been seeing that MFP estimated calories burned is way too high. Is there a better tool to track this that anyone knows of?

I personally like this website:
www.acaloriecalculator.com/calories-burned-calculator/
Your best bet is to also check out other online calorie calculators and use the average predicted calorie burn. After several weeks, compare your expected vs actual weight loss/gain and make adjustments accordingly.2 -
Yeah, I've checked a number of sites, and got a general consensus. MFP is pretty accurate, but it helps to balance it out with more than one intensity.
I log running and bicycle riding regularly. Found that splitting my 60 min run into maybe like, 30 min at 9mph and 30 min at 6mph gets me a pretty accurate hour logged. Can vary those with how intense your workout may have been.0 -
I would suggest wearing an activity tracker (i.e. Fitbit, Apple Watch, etc). While it's not perfect by any means, it paints a much better picture than randomly logging exercise. Plus, it's fun extra incentive to up your burns!1
