I want to start working out and I'm not sure exactly the best way to do it. I have fitstar which is body weight exercises. Is it ok to do these every day (they vary in time). I also have 2 small kids and no access to a gym. I have a treadmill. I have pcos too (so I've heard strength training is good for that?) just want to do the most effective ways to tone and loose weight. Problem zones are arms and gut. Any advice is appreciated!

You can't target fat loss unfortunately. Just eat a little less, eat more healthier foods, try walking on your treadmill 20-30 minutes a day or every other day, and do some bodyweight exercises 2-3 times a week whenever your schedule permits during the day. Start off small and gradually add more exercise into your routine.

It's hard when you have kids to find time to work out. Prior to having kids I would work out 4-5 times a week at the gym. Now I rarely go to the gym at all. Instead I lift weights in my basement and take walks in the evening/night when the kids are asleep. Some people like to workout in the morning, but I tried that and I hated it, not a morning person. You just have to figure out where you can squeeze the time in during the day and try to get a routine started. A lot of times the actual thought of finding time to workout can inhibit you from working out at all. Thinking you need a solid hour block of time, etc. Just do what you can when you can and eventually you'll figure out a routine.

There are various bodyweight exercises you can do like pushups, leg raises, planks, squats etc. For just a few dollars you can buy some dumbells and add in some dumbell rows, overhead press, goblet squats and more. IMO it's even more important to weight train than do cardio when losing weight. Cardio will help you burn calories of course, but it doesn't do anything for the muscles and when you lose weight you lose muscle and fat and can end up looking skinnyfat, which isn't a look most of us prefer. And let's face it, good health is great but we all secretly want to look our best at the same time. If you focus on weight training with limited cardio for heart health I think you'll burn nearly as many calories and you'll retain much more muscle mass and be stronger and fitter when you reach your goal weight.
