Change in diet questions

Recently i have switched my diet from no sugar high protein ie no sugar protein powder, quest bars, lots of processed foods and no fruit to a whole foods clean eating diet ie. Brown rice, fruit, oats veges and good fats. I feel like eating whole foods is going to be healthier and more sustainable for me in the long run as i feel fuller for longer on carbs and found myself binging alot on my previous eating plan and therefore ruining my weight loss and pretty much maintaining my current weight instead of loosing. I have noticed though that my daily sugar has increased from around 5g to around 50g a day? Even though its all coming from natural sugars is this still unhealthy? I have also noticed some weight gain, only a few pounds but still. Has anyone else experienced weight gain when switching to a whole food clean eating diet?? I am eating the same amount of calories as before, being 1200-1400.

Sugar from natural sources is not an issue if you have an overall balanced diet. You may have gained water weight if you're eating more carbs now compared to before.1
