Why are planks listed as cardio on the mfp fitness menu?

In order to get an estimate of calories burned, even if they aren't done for that long0

Strength training is listed under cardio too0

You can log it in both places. Cardio for the calories burned, strength for keeping track of reps/sets/weights.0
