Does anyone know how mfp get the caloric limit you're suppost to follow?

It's calculated off of a BMR but sometimes they do see fishy. What I'd suggest is doing you own Bmr on google and matching it to this one. Don't set your activity level to anything but the lowest one so it doesn't effect your calories and eat 400-500calories deficit and you'll lose weight unless you have kind of weird metabolism issue. If you are calculating your calories correctly and aren't losing weight it's best to see a doctor cause there could be an underlying problem0

It's based on your stats (age, height, weight, gender), as well as the activity level and rate of loss you chose. Only set yourself to sedentary if you have a desk job or an activity tracker linked up. If I were to do that I'd lose too quickly because my job is more active. Eat the amount given to you plus a portion of the exercise calories logged.2
