I am turning to the group for help. I have searched extensively on Google and the USDA site, and I come up with caloric values for an ear of corn on the cob as low as 99 calories and as high as 187 calories. So exactly, how many calories in an ear of corn? Medium to Large, weighing about 289 grams including the cob. I feel so stymied.

It's about 100 kcal per 100g of actual sweetcorn so I suppose you could weigh the cob after you've eaten it and subtract that from the total weight. The cob will make up most of the weight usually.

Cobs are too variable in size. One option is weigh it, weigh the cob afterwards, log that, and after doing it a few times you will develop the ability to estimate. USDA gives a number for a cob, yield 125 g of kernels (122 calories), but I would not assume an average medium to large cob would have that weight of kernels. The cobs I get are quite variable.
