Good Morning fellow contrave users. Today is the first day of starting week 3. Two pills in the morning and one in the evening. I've had no weight loss yet and actually feel hungrier then normal. Ugh!! Hoping it will kick in soon. I've had headaches and hot flashes which are horrible. Would love to hear from you guys.

Seems like you wasted your money. I would contact your physician for further information on what to do next and if you can, for a referral to a registered dietitian.

Something to note: It's not uncommon for people to have hypomania or full-blown-mania if they take this medication while having an underlying mood disorder (like bipolar). I'd rule that out with your doctor too since you seem to be "hungrier than normal".

I find even with taking "diet drugs" you really just still have self control. There just aren't any miracle drugs out there that truly melt the pounds away. You still have to plan a reduced calorie diet and move more. Contrave contains bupropion . My daughter took this for her anxiety/depression, it wold have been nice if it also helped her eat less but it did not. Instead she felt just as anxious, got twitches in her eye and just didn't feel right. So consequently her doctor changed her medication. Personally I would not take any drugs to help me lose weight . And you really need to be obese or morbidly obese before it should even be considered, if not I think your health is at risk for putting drugs into your body, but to me thats personal issue I don't like to take any medication. I started reducing caloric intake Sept 2016 and have lost 69 lbs. Its still a struggle as I'm a junk food eater but each day I have to remind myself to eat healthy. This past month I've been snacking too much on old foods so back to the basics for me. I know I can have them once in awhile but I will limit myself to holidays, and or special occasions. Then back on track. I wish you good luck with your weight loss journey.
