Trying to decide if I should push it and go workout tonight

Last Friday I did a 24 lift class and since then I have this pinching pain in my shoulders and in between my shoulder blades. I did a water aerobics class last night its pretty low impact, but even today 6 days later the pain is still there.
I typically go and do a last chance workout at the gym alone on Thurs night, but with this I dont know if I injured pulled something. Should I go and do some workout or let me body rest, weigh in is in the morning, dont have a good feeling about this week since I ate a little bad for a couple meals over the weekend and had a huge week last week.

If you are in actual pain you need to rest. Lifting is only going to make it worse.
If you insist on exercising spend and hour on the treadmill, but don't agrivate what already hurts. It will just put you out of commision longer.0 -
I would say no
I have watched my boyfriend throw out his back three times since last August. Every time he ends up on the ground, unable to walk for a few days, and on prescription steroids for the inflammation! He is only now starting to pay attention to what his body tells him. If you risk it you may end up missing out on weeks of exercise, but if you let your body heal you'll be fine. And maybe see your doctor...
You can still work out too, just avoid impact and upper body until you know.
I promise, it's not fun when you need a restroom and you can't get off the floor!0 -
I think your body is trying to tell you something...if the pain is not normal (just sore from working out) then you should take time off to heal. I hurt my back a few weeks ago and when I was feeling better, but no fully recovered, I started running again and hurt it once more this last Monday. Had I taken the time to fully recover, I don't think I would have hurt it again. Relax and take care of your body.0

REST if you are hurt! You dont want to overdue it and make it worse which will make the recovery even longer! If you have to do something make sure it is light and doesnt involve your shoulders or upper back, like walking outdoors or on treadmill!
Good Luck!0 -
Definitely listen to your body. The idea of, "no pain, no gain" is all wrong. You don't need pain to gain. Pain is the body's way of saying, "hey, enough!" If it's been hurting all week, I agree with above posters...see a dr. A couple of days is one thing, but a week...eh, that could be something more.0

Yeah, rest is definitely a good thing if the pain isn't going away. But I would still do cardio, something low impact like the bike. But thats because I personally find it really easy to nose dive with any injury, or when I get a cold ... I end up eating worse because I feel like crap .. and don't work out for a week because I feel like crap... and it just snowballs. Before I know it 6 months have gone by and 20 pounds have been put on. Definitely avoid anything that might aggrevate that area though.0

I was thinking about doing a walk or something on the treadmill or something to burn some more cals and at least do something, I definately wont do weights of any kind including this coming class on saturday if I am not feeling better0 -
I say go to the Chiropractor and get an adjustment! I see one weekly due to all my fitness and heavy lifting!!0
