Hey all,

I recently went on vacation for a week. I didnt track anything specifically but did guesstimate and quick log 2000-3000 calories per day, where i normally aim for 1600-1700 (i am normal weight BMI female).

There were a couple of very active - lots of walking - days, but the rest of the time was spent driving many hours, or sitting and... eating... generally highly caloric meals or snacks. I also drank alcohol but no more than would any other day (i am a moderate drinker.. working on it) and drank water as often as possible. I know i did not underestimate how much i ate because 8x out of 10, id finish the plate. Items like bratwurst and fries, breakfast ham and 2 fried eggs, pizza, etc.

Anyway, i came back last friday expecting to see the scale up at least from water retention but to my surprise i was 3 lbs *less* than the day i left. Now, im up 1.7 lb from that day, but im still sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop regarding the excessive calorie intake.

... am i past the point where id see a gain do you think?

Either a broken scale or you did well over your vacation! Perhaps the active days balanced out the excess calories. Or maybe you didn't consume as many calories as you thought you did. Or your stress levels went down over your vacay and caused a little whoosh in weight loss. Who knows! Keep an eye on things over the next couple weeks and if you hang onto your weight loss, congrats. :)

I took a week vacation during spring break. I came back +1lb, which was most likely water weight. I ate whatever I wanted and was very active during my vacation.....lol you can have it all.
