Pure protein sources

What are some foods that get the majority of their calories from protein. Most foods I know of that are high in protein are also high in either fat (meat, nuts, peanut butter) or carbs (yogurt, milk)

Does it have to be not-processed? Otherwise, you can try protein powders.

It depends on the protein powder. Some do, some don't. Compared to their calories the sugar content isn't that bad in p.powder. however....

Fish, lean pork, lamb, lean beef, turkey and mostly....

    Chicken

    No... they are overpriced.
  • 1/2 cup of fat free cottage cheese has 15 grams of protein. Also egg whites are full of protein. :)

Fat and carbs aren't bad. You need fat to help burn fat. Natural sources of fat like chicken, eggs, nuts and avocados are good fats. Chicken isn't even that high in fat.

I have found the best protein powders online. They are cheaper than in local stores and you can shop many brands at once. Many brands have additives like sugar and other artificial flavorings, but there are some good ones out there that are less processed.

Eggs are a good source of protein as well.

Only if you want to pay more. We buy ours from Costco, high protein and low sugar.

You can get a 2lb tub of p.powder for about 20-25 bucks. You can get it even cheaper if you used the walmart brand. They're all close to the same, but flavor and texture vary.

    Body Fortress
    Six Star
    Pure Protein
    Optimum Nutrition
    Syntha
    EAS
And many more can be found at your local store outside of a GNC or Vitamin Shoppe.
