You will eventually lose your belly fat when your weight gets low enough. At a deficit what you eat doesn't matter.

Agree with the other posters. There is no way to spot reduce. Your body will lose fat where it wants to. You can tone, but you can't eat specific foods to lose weight from your belly or your thighs or your arms, etc. A lot of people think this because of the deceiving ads that are out there that are designed to suck people in. The only thing that will work is a calorie deficit to cause you to lose body fat (from wherever your body chooses to lose it).

E.g. My partner and I ate pretty much the same things the entire way. I lost it from my face down - literally, face then shoulders then boobs then belly and my legs are the last to go. She lost it from the legs first, then her shoulders, and her belly last (she had shedloads less to lose than me, but that's not important). I lost a little bit from everywhere each week, but it mostly followed the pattern I explained.

Just worry about a calorie deficit and you'll see a generalised body weight loss. Supplement with toning exercises/strength exercises.

Yep, what everyone else says-there's no way to spot reduce/tone a specific area. As you lose weight your body composition will change based on how it wants to. For me-I literally lost from head to toe, in that order lol. I'm pear shaped and even being 10lbs below my goal weight and having a bmi of 20, I still have a bit of pudge in my thigh area. It's just how I'm made :grumble:

If you want to maintain LBM (which everyone should) while losing weight add in some strength training. Make a huge difference.
