Long work hours and a full week! Don't get chance to snack and constantly missing meals!
Need to lose around 5 stone and wanting a mircale...
Feeling so fat and on the edge! Haha

    well, when you decide you're ready to take responsibility and put the work in, you know where we are - and i say that with no bitchiness or sarcasm. you don't need a miracle, you just need a calorie deficit!

    Hi Jessie! I'm fresh out of miracles but if you want a friend to encourage and support you then you can add me. I'm just starting on MFP and am looking to lose the 100lbs I found over the last ten years. 6lb down already. You can do it!

    If you think about it, if this is true, what are you eating when you do eat that is so high in calories that you gained any weight you have to lose? None of us got here by not eating, unless they have a medical disorder. Start logging every single thing that goes in your mouth, honestly and realistically, drink lots of water and start moving more. There are even desk exercises if you work at a desk. You don't need a miracle, just some paying attention and action instead of wishes. Keep at it and you will succeed :D

    You can do it. I lost weight with the Atkins plan and gained it all back and then some. MFP has helped me with a lifestyle change to actually take stock of what I eat. Slow and steady wins this race, and I'm down nearly 25 pounds since March 23. I'm almost halfway to my goal and I can see actually losing more than my goal with this lifestyle change. The better you start feeling the more motivated you will be.

    thankyou all :) the problem is my body is storing anything I eat as fat.. I work long days and go roughly 10 hours in between meals. im making more of an effort with preparing food and putting myself and my body first instead of work!

    It's only storing excess calories as fat. You're likely eating more calories than you think, and more calories than you need.

    Meal timing is irrelevant...

    no, its storing fat because you are eating more than you burn.

    food prep is great if it helps you hit your calorie goal.

    Your body only stores fat when it has excess calories. It has nothing to do with long breaks between meals or the hours you work. Don't accept defeat before you even try! Someone who literally can't get out of bed will lose weight if they keep their calories below their maintenance level.

    CICO. If you have a job with long hours but sedentary, set your activity level to sedentary. When you prepare your meals, weigh everything. Especially things like pasta, where its easy to stick an extra handful in "because I'm hungry and haven't eaten all day", or cheese - you cut off what you think is 30g, weigh it and find its 50g, and either use the whole lump or cut off a bit (and then eat it any way because its only small...).
    weigh and log, weigh and log, use the stairs wherever you can, park the far side of the car park.... You can do it, but you have to want to do it.
    Lot of people say to me "I wish I could lose weight, how did you do it/how do you keep it off?" then lose interest when I explain there's no magic food or drink which takes the weight away for you. Set yourself a sensible level based on losing 1lb a week to start, stick to your goals and try to add in some more exercise (and eat those calories ONCE you've earned them of course). Stick with it, results will follow. :)
