Hey, I just started this app, I am wondering if there is a way to factor in breastfeeding as I would assume I need slighlty more calories to keep up my milk supply? I want to loose weight ASAP but also need to keep in mind I am only 7 weeks postpardom and exclusively bf. Please help me out

You want to add 500 calories a day to your calorie goal and only set your rate of loss to 0.5lb.
If after a few weeks you aren't losing change it to 1lb.
There is a breast feeding group somewhere on here. I'll try to find you the link.
Congratulations on the birth of your child1 -
No personal experience of course but search for "breastfeeding" in the food database to get a calorie adjustment.
Congrats on the birth of your child. :flowerforyou:1 -
You can either eat at maintenance and let breastfeeding create your deficit or set it to 0.5lb loss and add breastfeeding into your food diary as a snack for a negative calorie adjustment
I know you want the weight off asap but you didnt gain it overnight and too agressive deficit will affect supply particularly in the first 3 months
Im a breastfeeding mama of a 16 month old and even now i have to carefully balance my intake or my milk drops
(my boyo feeds very frequently, ex 25 weeker prem with lung disease)1 -
Glad you asked this. My baby is 12 weeks and I nurse and pump.0
