On Tuesday of next week I begin personal training sessions.

What is the best type of nutrition to have before hand and how soon before a training session should I have something, if anything?

I generally go with nothing (lunch is usually a few hours earlier). I tend to feel queasy if I eat too close to training (squats + yoghurt = especially bad combo for me!)

There is no best. Generally, people have a decent amount of carbs in the general time before/after working out, but that's not required. You'll have to figure out on your own how soon before hand you can eat. Some people can tolerate an hour, some need more like 3-4.

Will you be doing cardio or strength training/lifting? I would have a different recommendation for each.

I just started having cold rolled oats about 2 hours before HIIT and it works great for me. I struggled with this too. It took me a bit to find a good clean carb that didn't make me feel weighed down right before a workout.

Everyone is different but it did take a few tries before I found what works best for me. Plus, I love oatmeal! This is the first time that I have ever had it cold with some unsweetened almond milk. I just let it soak for about 15 minutes and then I am good to go! It's my personal favorite! :)

It will be primarily strength, with some cardio thrown in there. The majority of the cardio will be on my own on separate days.
