George Forman Grill

My best friend's family bought me one a number of Christmases ago and I rarely used it. But now I'm using it more. Just grilled some portobello mushrooms and zucchini. Now I'm grilling some za'atar lemon chicken which is super easy on the grill to do.

Anyone else have one? What do you like to cook? Would love suggestions!

I used to have one. It was quite useful. Now I'm in the UK there is a grill function built into my regular oven.
As well as grilling veg and meat, I'd use the George Forman grill to make hot sandwiches/paninis though...like ham and cheese.

I have one. I sometimes cook burgers and chicken on there. It's annoying to clean though so I rarely use it.

I have had lots over the years as use them all the time mainly for

    - Chicken Breast (best to butterfly them)
    - Sausage (best to cut them in half)
    - Bacon
    - Steak
    - Pork chop
    - Burgers
    - kebabs

They are the main things I have done Veg but not that often, mine has removalable grills so it is so quick and easy to use and clean

I know! What I do for a quick clean is I let it heat up for a bit, then I run paper towel through the grooves to grab whatever is stuck. Its not completely clean but I'm a guy so I dont give a **** lol!

I used to make grilled cheese on it but the calorie to satiety ratio isnt worth it these days!

The original ones did not have removable plates. That came much later.

It's pancake Sundays at my house and I've been making waffles on my George Foreman. Because I'm too cheap to buy a waffle iron.

The ones with removable plates are much more expensive, and they're quite a bit bigger than the individual size, I think. I wore out my original one and had to buy a new one last year...that's when I found out they now had removable plates.

I usually just cook fish, hamburgers or chicken breast in mine.

We had one a long time ago & used it all the time.Recently we found a small one at a yard sale. The trick to cleaning it is to wipe it with paper towels asap after you're done cooking. I use mine all the time but mostly on meat, ground turkey patties, beef & chicken

I had a single one for several years and loved it, so asked for the family sized one a few years ago. It sits on top of my stove - use it all the time. I think it's really simple to clean - when it starts to heat up, take a wet dish cloth or wet paper towels and wipe it off. It's cleaner than your grill outside.

The old Foreman we had didn't have the removable plates so we'd just put damp paper cloths in it when finished cooking (and after unplugging) and that made it super easy to clean up.

When the old one died we got one with removable plates and use it all the time (it stays on the counter). We do meats, veggies and/or sandwiches on it several times a week. We ended up with 2 sets of plates when the one we bought died after about a month and the manufacturer sent us a new one (only had to send in the plug so we got to keep the plates).

I wore out 2 small ones when I was working. Came home, put a pork chop, chicken tenders, or burger in grill, veggies in microwave, changed clothes, and supper was ready. Loved it! Used it at least 5 times a week.
After I wore out the second one, I retired, daughter bought me a big fancy one. I think it’s still in the cabinet somewhere.

I use mine out on the picnic table with an extension cord. You can use it for sweet potatoes, eggs, pancakes...everything. I just don't like the fried food thing clinging to the walls and shades. I fry outside in the summer but today, winter is here. Snow everywhere.

I use it for sometimes for grilling veg (courgettes, onion slices, aubergine, sweet potato etc) for pizza topping. I usually double up and a load goes in the freezer for later.

I also use the paper towel method. It is a Total Pain to clean and to be honest I hate it (it was an unexpected MIL present...).

Hubby (loyally) uses it for burgers. But nowadays the rule is he then has to clean it. Dripped on stand legs and counter top and all.

It takes up loads of room in the cupboard too.

If I cook burgers - they go on a tin in the oven....

But still the veggie loaded pizzas are good!

I have had 3 of the biggest size g. Foreman grills over the years. I wore the first one out so I had to buy another. By then they had the removable plate kind. That one sucked! It didn't get nearly as hot as the first one i had. Got rid of that one and got the traditional kind again and love it. I have a George foreman dedicated dishcloth. It saves my other dishcloths from getting stained up and i don't have to use up all the paper towels everytime (reduce, reuse, recycle!) Also, don't use dish soap on it and the nonstick surface stays seasoned
