Hi all,

I posted on the introduction page a bit about myself a month ago:
Hi all,

I'm new to this website, but have been using the app continuously for 2 weeks now.

I grew up in a single parent family and as such have been used to making my own meals since a very young age (not the healthiest of meals). I have always eaten when I felt hungry (which sometimes was days between meals).
As I hit my 30's the lack of any suitable, regular meals has taken its toll and I have gained weight.

When I first started using this app, I kept the settings as standard (which suggested eating 1200 calories per day). I have now realised that for the majority of my life my body has been living in 'starvation mode' as i struggle to eat 800/900 calories each day (I have never felt tired or lethargic on the calories I've been eating).

My BMR comes back as: 1553.95
an my TDEE comes back as: 2124

Has anyone else had any issues with struggling to eat the required calories (in regards to not eating enough rather than eating too much)?
If so, could anyone give me some advice on how I can finally get the sufficient number of calories into my system without feeling like I'm way too full.

After getting lots of very helpful advice from everyone here - :flowerforyou: Thank you all so much :flowerforyou: I have finally been losing the weight.
My love handles have disappeared completely, and my stomach is slowly going the way of the dinosaurs.

BUT_ _ _ My bingo wings appear to be getting larger   :explode: Has anyone experienced this same scenario? and I would appreciate any and all advice on how to make them appear reduced.

Many thanks to you all

The bingo wings may "appear" to be getting larger because the rest of you is getting smaller. That's awesome progress!

My bingo wings were mostly stretched/sagging skin as a result of weight loss, more-so than excess fat. Time and patience are key. That said, I have noticed significant improvement by doing strength training that focuses on my arms and triceps. I've been doing overhead presses, bent rows and tricep extensions that seem to be improving the overall appearance of my arms, thus taking my attention off the bingo wings.

I've also come to realize that no one sees those little imperfections as much as we see them ourselves. Keep up the great work!

Thats wonderful advice, thank you so much.
I have been undertaking some light weight training on my arms (not been recording it in my log as im not sure how to work out the calories on them)
I will keep on with the weight training then, and see what happens

You're very welcome! I don't count my strength training as a calorie burn either because according to my fitbit it's not much, but I do track it under Strength Training to see my progress and accomplishments. I don't lift heavy but am slowly working my way up and very happy with my progress so far. My diary is open to friends if you'd like to see what I do and how often. Sending a friend request your way...
