Opinions/Advice on fat burner supplements?

I just ordered my first fat burner today, and the reviews looked pretty good. I'm not trying to lose a significant amount of weight, I'd just love to look extra lean this summer! I exercise regularly and eat really clean, this is just something new I'm trying to add to the mix. Thought I'd come here and see what everyone's experience has been with fat burner supplements.

The best fat burner is calorie deficit. Add some exercise for health benefits and improved body composition....14

I don't like fat burners personally because I have serious sleeping issues and restless legs. Last time I did the fat burner thing I almost ended up fired and in the hospital because it made me so jittery people thought I was on the illegal stuff!
I have started using 5 htp at night, and provogil during day (with Neuro's help) and they seem to make a huge difference on lowering my appetite.0 -
They're a complete and total waste of money and will do nothing to help you lose fat. They're scams and the only people who benefit from them are the ones selling them.
A simple rule to remember when it comes to "fat burners": If it works, it isn't legal; if it's legal, it doesn't work.
[ETA:] Eating "clean" (by whatever definition) has nothing to do with weight loss, per se. Eating at a caloric deficit is how you lose weight.17 -

Most fat burners are just high amounts of caffeine and wont promote fat burning.3

I hope that it's not the same one that girl in the UK ordered. It burned fat all right - but it burned her to death from inside out.
If it's legal it doesn't work, if it works it's not legal and almost certainly very dangerous.2 -
Don't waste your money. Weight loss is entirely about energy balance and maintaining a calorie deficit.

exercise and eating clean doesnt mean you will lose weight. you lose weight eating in a deficit. and the less you have to lose the slower its going to be.you can still gain/maintain weight eating "clean" and working out.fat is lost in a deficit. nothing else is needed. But exercise is good for the body2 -
Eca and yohimbine help to some degree
Eca mainly with apitite suppression and
Slight thermogenic effect.
All depending on which country you
Live in really, some very effective fat

If they worked there would be no fat people...6 -
As soneone else already said - I EC stack (plus green tea), and it's working beautifully. Busted right through my plateau, and the weight is literally just dropping off. Never hungry, and my lifting has improved significantly. Very effective, and I'm very pleased with the results. Even my body composition is changing so much quicker than i thought possible.
It's strong stuff though, so I wouldn't recommend it for everyone.1 -

green tea has no effects on fat or anything else. if you are seeing results then you were probably just retaining water and it was masking weight loss,. and if you arent hungry you are eating less so that will result in weight loss.caffeine itself can help improve lifting too.Im not saying what you are taking is not helping some. not sure if you are taking ephedrine or not. .5 -

And what university is you PhD in biochemistry from?
Seriously, an EC stack is full of strong stimulants that can cause serious medical issues and be dangerous for people with several common medical conditions.8 -

Yet you are?8 -
Ok most of them are useless some of them are actively harmful to your health. All of them are a waste of money.
If you feel like you need to pop a pill try popping one frozen pea. Combined with a healthy diet and exercise and keeping calories in less then out and popping one frozen pea a day and you will lose weight. (Pea like diet pills will have 0 effect)5 -

Can I get DNP otc too? Always interesting to see the differences from one country to the next. Apparently ephedrine isn't available otc in the US but here we buy it at GNC.0
-
Not sure on the DNP lol
Isn't insulin available otc in the USA ?
Please correct me on this if I'm wrong.

no dont think so I think you have to have a script for it, and not sure about all states but here you have to have a letter from the dr stating you are diabetic in order for you to carry syringes around with you so if stopped you dont get arrested for drug paraphernalia. I know the syringes you need a script for at least here you do0 -
Mine made a great preworkout... But caffeine pills are cheaper and ultimately the same.0
