"Desperation leads to degradation"

That is a line from a book that I am reading. Gosh, it just clicked with me so much. I know that when I don't plan to have healthy choices, let myself get too hungry without obvious good options, etc. I end up just desperate to eat. When I make really crappy choices because of poor planning, I feel like crap for "failing" and for setting myself up. (not talking about planning to eat a treat, or working in whatever craving you are having, that is totally fine).

It is such a HUGE part of success for me to plan ahead. I try to plan dinners at least a few days out so I know I have what I need (trying to avoid the "It's 6:30, we are starving, I'm in pain, nothing is thawed, so dinner will come from a drive thru" cycle that I have gotten into before). I try to plan ideas for healthy snacks that aren't too cumbersome to grab (cutting up veggies in advance, having fruits on hand, etc).

I have only been back here for maybe 2 weeks. I just know that this phrase hit me today, and thought it might give someone else something to ponder, as well. :)

(sorry for the xpost, I accidentally posted in the wrong forum the first time)
