Hello
I am 5"8, 57kg. Small frame. I am skinnyfat and so I got a little scared when I saw my ribcage today in the mirror.. my legs and butt and thighs and arms have pleeenty fat so I have been cutting. But stopping now. I want to start eating a lot of protein and do bodyweight exercises at home for my glutes, butt, abs and arms. But how do I get muscle on my upper body around my ribs ? What bodyweight workouts can I do and does it help at all? I want to be slim but not want my ribcage showing..

I compete in bodybuilding and even with extra muscle I see ribs since mine stick out really far. At your height and weight recomposition is one option. I would actually consider slowly gaining 5-10 pounds (over the course of a year) while following a lifting program that uses weights rather than body weight.2

I have the same problem, if I stand in a particular way... I have to make a huge effort when competing to make them not stick out. (I used to sit and stand normally by arching my back from my shoulders, not tilting my pelvis. That doesn't help)
Plenty of people can be "ribby" just because of their bone structure, or posture. It's not somewhere you're going to grow a lot of muscle, or hide particularly well unless you put fat back on.0
