Hello,

I'm looking for just two or three other folks for motivation and support. I'm looking for some specifics and am having a hard time finding folks in the same boat.

With your Garmin it can be used as a 'Step Tracker' which is great, I have a little step tracker that I wear as a watch. The other thing is a Garmin can be used to track "Activities" these are things like swimming, running, bicycling, etc. This is where I'm hoping to find others. Doing activities with your Garmin.

Thousands of (millions?) of other people and I have logged into MFP and used it a bit then faded away. They got a Garmin and a Garmin Connect account and used it then faded away. That's okay!!! I've done it, and it may happen again in the future. As of now 'June 2017' I'm in a groove and want to find a few others who are in a similar groove. So,

Right now in the month of June are you:
  • Daily logging foods in MFP
  • Regularly syncing Activities that you do with your Garmin

I'm not looking for a life time commitment, just a trial run for a month or so. You do your activities and log your food, I'll do the same and for awhile we can help keep each other motivated and stay on track. Anyone out there?

Women? Sure. Men? Sure. Oldies, youngies, middlies? All good. Log foods and activities regularly and be communicative and supportive, I'll try to do the same.

I don't do activities very often. I know I at least should aim for some intensity minutes but I haven't really been feeling up to it. I do log all of my food though. I'm close to 140 days.

If you have the time and interest, how about June? Three a week? Two? Four?
    I'm close to 140 days.

Great job! I'm coming up on 100

Hmm, this thread landed with a soft thud. No collaborating using Garmin Connect for activities, and daily food logging in MFP?

I just got my Garmin and trying to figure it all out. Regular at the gym and on again off again diet tracker.... If I would keep up in the duet, I would probably look like I go to the gym.

Anyway, what are you looking for, accountability?

I have weight loss goals and activity goals. I'm hoping that working in concert I can make progress on both. I think tracking food in MFP helps with the first part and tracking activities in GC helps with the second.
If I am right, I'd like the social lubricant of a few others with the same two goals (many of us) and the same idea of using these two tool simultaneously (few of us) Me and these other folks would be losing weight and preparing for and participating in fitness activities. (climbing half-dome, openwater swim, running a 5k, playing in a rec. league basketball team etc.)
Most 'activity' focused people are in maintenance mode on their weight, and most people with weight to lose aren't going anywhere near planning activities.
The few ones that are think of both are doing their own thing. I am just hoping to find two or three in a similar circumstance.

Even if you log in MFP and you are 'thinking' about using a Garmin to track stuff, shoot me a note.

I would like to connect. Up until recently my Garmin was a glorified watch. I am personally on day 3 of connecting the two programs.

Does anyone use a Garmin for 'Activities' biking, jogging, etc....and log food in MFP? I'm looking to give and take daily support and motivation.

I log my food daily as well as my activities to my GC account. Send me a friend request. My username is the same on Garmin as it is on here.

Hi I just got a Garmin so just starting out. I hate to exercise so I am trying to use all this as motivation and accountability. You scan add me if you like. I'm looking to loose 48 lbs and eventually do a spartan with my family. So here we go.

    Keep'em coming folks......

Do you do "activities" with your Garmin, like swim, bicycle, run, etc. (not only step counts)
Do you log your foods in MFP?

It is a potent double wammy. I'm wanting to get a handful of folks logging, syncing their Garmins and motivating all of us.
