Working out with an injury

I am currently recovering from a badly sprained ankle so cannot run, which is usually my only exercise because I enjoy it. I'm out of action for about 8 weeks while I heal so what else can I do? I do not have, and cannot afford, any kit or a gym membership. I'd like to do cardio but without access to a swimming pool and with a busted ankle I'm not sure what do really do.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I'd suggest boxing type exercise - leaving the kicks out. I'm sure you can find something on youtube. Also situps, crunches, modified push-ups (girl ones is what I call them). Good luck! I broke my ankle years ago and it was a year recovery so I've been there.

After my last foot surgery (crutches for 2.5 months, walking boot for another 3), I did chair workouts that I found on Youtube, took a second to get past the ego, but in the end, they really worked and helped me keep some muscle mass with that long of a time being sidelined.
