I'm seeing "butt-hurt" being used all over the message boards. It makes me giggle when I read it. Where the heck did that term come from?!

Also, when someone says something like "in," is that pretty much the same thing as "bump?"

Any other acronyms, terms, or abbreviations commonly used on these boards that I should be aware of?

    I think 'in' is like checking in/ reserving a spot for the drama/flaming that will become of the thread

    I thought "in" meant that they wanted to be in the thread before the mods closed it up? Sorta like marking "I was here" ??

    As for "In" it used to mean your willingness to participate in whatever action has been suggested. Usually a lewd or lascivious action, at least on my newsfeed. YMMV.

    yeah. usually when you say someone is butt-hurt, it means they are like highly offended or angry by something you said. Like how Obama gets all butt hurt when people ask him if he will be covered under his own healthcare plan.
