Math and Deficit: Does it work like this?

Is it possible to use the math of creating a deficit to stay on track after a bad week? In my mind, with a 1200 net and 1420 burn is what's going to keep me on track. This 1420 burn comes in the form of a 355 burn 4x per week. If I deviate from that, then I need to use the math to fix it. This is what my little brain has come up with.

Over my calorie goal 985 so far for the week. That means to make that up in the next two days, my net intake must be 215 tomorrow or 2 hours of cardio to burn 985 cals over the next two days in addition to the 400 cals I still need to burn tomorrow. What in the hell. It seems like it'd be easier to stay under 215. . .

I don't know if I have it in me to do 1 hr cardio in the AM and then another in the PM. If I can that'd be 1185 burn for today, I only need 400 today, so the other 785 would be for the over eating this week. Then I'd still just have 200 I need to burn on Saturday, granted I don't go over my cals.
