I Just Wanna Be Me

I've tried bunches of different diets and exercises and workouts DVDS and the result is the same. I get bored, discouraged, and finally I give up. The result? I'm t5'3" and 245 lbs. Or I was at the beginning of May. I've since lost 11 lbs. How? By just doing what I want and not following any more gimmicks. No more "drink this", "eat that", "do this one move and lose X amount of weight."
So what do I want? Money! I joined a Healthy Wage challenge and got back into MyFitnessPal to help track my calories, fat, sugar, and carbs. I'm not paying much attention to the rest. I knew I needed to cut down on sweets, but I didn't want to cut them out, so I didn't. I use MFP to tell me if I have exceeded my sugar, and if I haven't, I endulge a bit. I cut out almost all fried food, but french fries and cheese sticks call to me some days.
I've cut down and cut out a lot, like fast food, cokes, candy, and cookies, but I don't sacrifice every day. I know once I lose the weight that I want, I'm going to have to maintain my weight. I can't go on a forever diet. That's where I fail. So I'm going to lose weight my way and make whatever adjustments I need to along the way. So far, so good.
Getting back to the Healthy Wage challenge, I don't think I will win the huge prize at the end, but if I lose 10% of my starting weight, I'll at least get my entry fee back. I want my money! That's my motivation and that is working for me, too.

Geez, if words could only express how much I love french fries. Welcome to the fold @MmamabearR. We're all in this thing together!

You're on the right track this time. There aren't any magic pills or diets. Keep up the good work.1
