Is my scale broken?

So I've been on my journey for less than a week and my scale says I lost 9lbs? Could I really lose that much water weight with a drastic diet change? I haven't been exercising either. 9 lbs seems impossible in that amount of time.

Yeah it's possible to drop a lot of water weight initially, particularly if you've changed your macros significantly.0

I was wondering this exact same thing! My scale has me as lost 10 pounds in like 5 days since I've been dieting & I don't exercise at all. I have myself on 1500 calories. I'm 24 years old & started at 302lbs. I was like is my scale broken this can't be possible!1
