For me, a 30 minute run would be my choice. Not exactly new and exciting, but it's what I do.

I spin class can be a fun way, maybe a boot camp class.

I was thinking about a run but the pollen count is high and I'm asthmatic, so it makes running quite difficult!

I was going to suggest one of the following:

    a five mile run
    swim for 50 minutes breastroke
a five mile walk at 4mph
    a two hour cycle ride
    two hours weights

Do you have a pedometer? Apparently 10,000 steps a day burns 500 calories (I wouldn't count on it to much but increasing walking is always a good thing in general)

    Got this from the web:

    The biggest burners

    Calories burned per hour*
    Based on a 160-pound person

    1. 986 calories burned: Running at 8mph
    2. 913 calories burned: Rollerblading
    3. 730 calories burned: Tae Kwon Do
    4. 730 calories burned: Jump rope
    5. 657 calories burned: Stair treadmill
    6. 584 calories burned: Jogging at 5mph
    7. 511 calories burned: Backpacking
    8. 511 calories burned: Racquetball
    9. 511 calories burned: Cross-country skiing
    10. 511 calories burned: High-impact aerobics

Maybe do a combination. I work on a military installation and where I do my trail runs, the Army GIs are always walking/running with weighted backpacks.
