Doesn't make sense

I suffered a miscarriage last month and as a result I stopped calorie counting for just over two weeks. I didn't go to the gym much either. I calorie counted for a few days and went over 1200 on those days.
I weighed myself for the first time today and I've lost 5lbs. I looks slimmer and my clothes are baggier so it's not just water weight.
It doesn't make sense... I've been calorie counting, exercising regularly and sticking to 1200 calories and found my weight loss stalled. Then when I relax a little I lose 5lbs... any ideas why??

There are a lot of hormonal changes that happen to your body when you get pregnant, including visible bloating (which is water weight). It would be really hard to tell whether your initial stall, or your recent whoosh were fat or water or something else. Also, just because you weren't counting doesn't mean you were eating more. I would just chalk it up to "bodies are weird" and focus on moving forward.

So sorry for your loss, hang in there

Happens to me all the time. Don't have an actual answer - bodies are weird some times.

    So sorry for your loss.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Take time to heal and grieve. It takes a toll on both your body and mind (and heart).

Regardless of the situation, however, weight fluctuates and weight loss or gain is not immediate. It takes a while for either to show on the scale and appear (or disappear) on the body. Being consistent over time is the most important key to success.

There are not always answers to these questions. Sorry for your loss.

The body uses energy to heal itself.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I would probably attribute the weight loss to a combination of hormonal fluid loss, blood loss, use of calories to heal, and a naturally lesser appetite.

Probably your body used calories to heal itself, and you may have had a smaller appetite due to mourning. I'm sorry for your loss. :(

The effects from diet don't have immediate result. The delay is sometimes very big. For me sometimes weeks.
