Hey There!
My name's Marissa, and I've been on and off of MyFitnessPal for years. I've struggled with my weight since I was a kid, and it's time to lose the weight for good!
In my early twenties, I was diagnosed with PCOS. I got no real information about it from my doctors, and as a young person, I didn't really care. By my mid twenties, I was at my heaviest (320... yikes) and became curious about how my weight and the PCOS were connected (they are in a HUGE way!), and started a low carb diet and light exercise, and in three months, I'd lost 60lbs! I plateaued for a while, and by 27, I picked up the paleo diet, and lost another 40lbs! I started going to the gym every single day for about two years. After all of that, I was down 110lbs total.
I started to coast once I hit my lowest. Stopped going to the gym every day, which eventually slipped to not going at all. I was eating whatever I wanted and not caring. That led to weight gain, of course! Now, at 30, I'm back up 70lbs from my lowest, and I'm ready to do something about it.
I started on Monday of this week (newly 30!) with following a low carb, high protein diet, and building up my exercise slowly, I've already lost 10lbs, and I'm ready to stick with it and make it a lifestyle. I have the support of my incredible boyfriend, my inspirational best friend (he just lost 130lbs in a YEAR!), and the motivation to make this happen. I figured a bit of extra support from the MFP community couldn't hurt
Now that you know my whole life story (ha!), I look forward to connecting, and giving/receiving support with you all. We all know this is tough, so let's make this a bit easier together!
See you out there!
