so i pick up some saurkraut, right? and I look at the nutrition and it says "ZERO CALORIES." Is this possible, or are my eyes shilling me?

My guess is that they made the serving size small enough so that each serving had less than 5 calories so they could round that down to zero.

They couldn't get away with that in countries that require the nutrition for 100 grams to also be listed in the nutrition facts.

ETA: Yup. It looks to me like they did it to downplay the fact that a whole can has 2520 mg of sodium.

    Great Value: Sauerkraut, 14.5 oz

Its just cabbage and salt, so it is super low cal. But as @seska422 said they can round anything less than 5 cals down to 0.
