In Australia we have bbq's - we don't call it grilling. If you go to someone's house for a BBQ, you get meat cooked on the bbq (grill) with sides (salads, bread rolls, etc).0 -

What is slow cooking on the barbie called?
I figured I would end up insulting someone, I have a way. Sorry0 -

Not insulted in the slightest - just wanted to mention itcultural differences are interesting!
We "slow cook" or "slow roast" things? I honestly can't think of how we would describe it another way. American bbq restaurants have become popular, but I'm sure the name and concept is slightly confusing for some people!1 -

Nothing insulting there! Just interesting cultural differences.
I do both American and Australian style bbqing. Slow cooking outdoors tends to be done in a Weber or kettle BBQ rather than the normal one and gets called Weberring for the most part.
