I am on the path to lose a large amount of weight and even though I am doing everything right to keep my skin's elasticity - I want to add a lotion/ moisturizer to the routine. Does anyone have anything they've used and liked?

Sorry but I don't think there is any "magic" lotion that can eliminate any excess skin resulting from weight loss that your genetics and inherent skin elasticity doesn't address.

I use a mineral oil based lotion supplemented w/Vitamins AD&C which keeps my skin soft and smooth but I couldn't say if it's reduced the loose skin on my lower belly that has emerged w/age and weight loss.

I've also tried concentrated Retinol (Vit A) creams, that are supposed to work on facial winkles, on my loose belly skin with no obvious effect either.

As you know, taking it slowly is the best method to protect from sagging skin (although I have plenty). For the facial are, try facial yoga.

If you find anything that works...let me know! Ive been wondering the same about any lotions or creams to benefit (I'm not looking for a cure all) but something to help :)

I'm 90lbs down and have 70-90 to go. I have saggy skin everywhere. Doc says genetics. I'm disgusted that I let things get this way but I'm glad I'm making better choices for so many reasons. If you find the magic lotion, I'm in!

Has anyone tried thermage or titan ? They are a laser sking tightening option. I'm very curious after loosing 70lbs my stomach could use a little help.

Nothing is magical but keeping skin moisturized make it look less saggy,Philosophy has "amazing grace"which is a bit tightening, I get the dreaded"turkey neck" if I don't consistanlty moisturize

Loose skin is NOT uncommon with weight loss of over 80+ lbs. Unfortunately the only thing you can count on is genetics and age. First and foremost lose the weight for your health. You have a couple of options for loose skin later.

A good absorbing lotion (rather than a greasy oil) and staying hydrated are the best things you can do. Nothing really tightens body skin (although you might have some luck with things like Retin-A on your face and neck) so your best course of action is to keep your skin as supple as possible. Genetics, age, and the amount of weight you have lost will determine the rest.

Personally, I really like the Curel line of lotions. My favorite is the "Itch Defense" because I swim and take water exercises and the chlorine can cause itchy, dry skin. Their "Daily Healing" is also nice

Vitamin E and collagen help me. St. Ives has one, so it doesn't need to be expensive. I also take a hair, skin & nails beauty supplement containing biotin and other skin-beneficial ingredients. I take the candy version by GNC.

Your best bet it to drinks a lot of water every day. Nothing else, aside from building muscle, will be as effectively as staying very hydrated. The rest is a moon shot--it's genetic and you can only hope for the best!

Cheap and cheerful Johnson's baby lotion here, it won't tighten loose skin, but it makes the skin really soft, look healthier (not dry) and smells lovely too.

My understanding on this matter is that, as others have mentioned, it is down to age and genetics. If the skin has been damaged through stretching - then, there is nothing (other than the surgical route) to tighten it. Ensuring you have a good amount of muscle under the skin will help with appearance. However, I have read that various tests have shown that it doesn't really matter what moisturiser/cream you use on your skin because it really only softens the very top layers of the skin and therefore has little impact on overstretched/sagging/elasticity BUT massage increases blood flow and has shown to improve appearance.

I have just started taking collagen ( powder).....I can't comment yet about the affects as I just started. But it's supposed to be really good for your skin, hair, nails and joints. I mix it in the my morning coffee.

Collagen is what i came on this thread to mention, i mix it in my coffee every morning too.

OP Lotions are not going to help with loose skin, they don't penetrate deep enough to make a difference. My only advice is collagen powder and VitC, and i cant guarantee you still won't have to deal with loose skin, but these 2 supplements may help.

Reviva labs on Amazon. It's pretty inexpensive so I tried it on a whim not expecting much. It has helped my loose skin on my lower tummy a lot. It's the only thing that has made a difference for me.
