What's Your Personal Record Today?

Happy Friday! If your week has been anything like my week, you're probably pretty happy the weekend is coming :-)

Some good things happened though...

I hit a personal record and maxed out my back squat at 120 pounds (three reps)! I probably could have gone a little higher for a one rep max.

When I started lifting heavy in March, I remember looking at the girls in my class squatting 100+ pounds and thinking I'd never be able to lift that much weight. Now I'm one of them! Of course, there's still those girls that are at 150+ pounds. I admire them and look forward to reaching that level.

Did you PR today? Awesome! Tell us about it.

I tied my dad's lifetime record for shoulder shrugs (45 lbs/arm). The only reason I couldn't do more is because I ran out of weight to add to my dumbbell.

Yeah I did, his response was "It took me years to get up to that, you did it in a couple months.... you jerk." But he was seriously very proud of me. I want him to get back into exercising, I enjoy doing it with him, and I want to spend a lot more time here with him.
