NSV - favorite purple tank top: now smaller!

Hi! I love reading everyone's NSV's. So I though I'd post a couple of my own, today.

1. I've learned to really appreciate my sewing machine! In the past week, I've been making several shirts smaller by taking in the sides. Here's my favorite purple tank top, AND the inches I cut off from each side, this morning: 40379941_7879.jpg
I'm excited to be able to wear it again. lol This is a great way to save money. I'll have to be sure that any cute shirts I buy in my future "transition sizes" look like they'll be able to be taken in, easily.

2. I'm donating TEN trash bags worth of stuff from my closets, today. I think that after this, I won't have ANY of the clothes that I originally wore before my weight loss began (except for the ones that I've sewed). All I own, now, are clothes I've bought since I first started shrinking. Yay for a smaller wardrobe! (in both senses of the word!) :) In total, my new wardrobe amounts to about a week and a half of clothes - and half of the shirts are a size too big (but still wearable). I started in size 24/3X, and now I'm 16/XL.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. :)

Yeah, it is a lot of material - I've done this 4 or 5 times, and each time when I cut it off, I panic a little, and think the shirt won't fit, now. But it does! :) Yay, me!

You could always save the scraps to make a quilt. Might be a fun thing to have, especially since you won't have that extra fat to keep you warm in the winter.

    :)

What? You mean shrinking your clothes in the dryer doesn't work like in those cereal commercials?
Haha, all joking aside, good job!
I wish I knew how to sew! That would have saved me a ton of money :/
