I have always had a fear of loosing weight and not feeling happy about how I look facial wise I have high cheeckbones and a chin with a dimple in the middle it makes me think I my face will look thin like a skeleton if I lost weight and am afraid of change as well, as in my personality my confidence turning into pride instead of vibrant. I also fear gainong the weight back because I love food and do not want to completely stop eating fatty foods just eat it maybe once in a while and by perportion. Am I the only one who feels this way? What fear do you deal with as you loose weight? I want to feel like I am not alone. Guess I just need a little support and confidence that I do not have anything to fear and the benifits to loosing this weight.

I too was afraid of everything I thought I had to give up. It turned out that that fear was unnecessary. Losing weight and now maintaining weight two years in, I'm eating better than ever, I enjoy appropriate portions a lot more than I ever enjoyed overeating, my stress levels are reduced, I don't worry about self-induced health concerns and scaremongering anymore. One of the big changes in my diet, was eating more fat, deliberately. This made me crave real food, more vegetables, moderate portions, and thus made it easier to manage weight.

And I believed I would be "too thin" too, but I'm not. I do indeed have "bony" parts, but many normal weight people have them. It's normal.

Most of us fear and resist change, but change is unavoidable, and we are remarkably adaptable, and we usually like the new thing when we get used to it. It can take time, but you cen get used to good things as well as bad things.

I have a fear of the loss skin after I lose all the weight to get to my goal. As for eating some fatty foods sometimes I do that but because the diet I'm on is so good it doesn't seam to have that much of an affect. I can still eat a little of what I like.

Hi there. I think you may be overthinking it a little. Take it slow, and re evaluate weekly or so, and you'll likely not lose to a point of looking skeletal. If you are overweight, the benefits of weight loss and maintaining a healthy wait are plentiful. You've got the right idea with not wanting to completely cut out any single food group(s). Use mfp to figure you calorie goal for your ideal rate of loss, and eat a variety of foods that keep you within that goal. Add exercise to improve you fitness levels, and overtime you'll see results that you should be able to adjust to your liking as you go.

    Good luck!
