Good morning,
Today I hit my 900th day, I've lost 60lbs and kept that off. For many reasons I've struggled with the last 10-15 (that's another story for another day ). My heart goes out to those who start threads wanting to los X amount of weight per month, per week etc when it's not a realistic number, rather a number based on what a reality show said could be done. We are here to be healthy, get fit AND learn to do it while STILL living in the real world, not away from job, stress, family and responsibilities.
If losing it slow and steady AND keeping it off even though there'll be ups and downs is the way you want to go, this is the place to be. I wish you a great day!

I just wrote a long rant in support of your views. Lost in cyberspace. Likely for the better.

A time driven program is a recipe to turn success, losses, into failure, not fast enough. Take the standard "I only lost X". That loss is hard evidence of success. But our brains insist on recording it as failure.

You don't need to be on these boards long to see that most people are done in by their own brains.
Why should I expect that that 6 years of dedicated overeating can be undone 8 months? 1or 2 weeks for every pound seems to be reality. And when you get to the last 10% it's your private no mans land.

Good news is that a moderate (livable) calorie deficit overtime, and adjusted as needed, cannot fail. No one wants to allow for the time. A modest downward trend is you best friend in WL. Thanks for the post. Still ranting though.
