I use my elliptical at home and it says I burn 160 cals. in 20 minutes (or about 10 cals. higher or lower depending on the program I use). However when I look up the elliptical exerciser on MFP and plug in 20 mins. it says I burn 307 cals.!!! That is a HUGE discrepancy. Surely either my elliptical or the website is wrong. How do I know which one is correct? Like I said- HUGE difference. I need to know how many cals. I'm burning so I can adjust my dietary needs accordingly.

Go with the machine. It's still an estimate based on an equation, but it takes things into account like how much resistance and speed (effort) you are putting in.0
