I love to cook but I am no Pakistani but am curious as to how the food is so different. Can you explain? I always though food was food or ingredients ingredients.0

Yes we eat roti or chappati every day with every meal..nowadays its Ramadan and in iftaar has all fried items like friend potato pakoray.
U r right food is food and ingredients are ingredients..it's just the way up use them and v do all possible unhealthy ways.

You could reduce your carb intake by getting rid of the fried potato and chapati for a start. Smaller portions of rice or substitute with cauliflower rice.

Try using butter ghee or coconut oil rather than vegetable / seed oils if you can.1

Hi I'm half Pakistani and half Indian. Just joined MFP yesterday. I cooked chickpeas daal today. I added all the calories for everything before starting, then once it was cooked I counted how many spoonfuls I had made. Then I divided the amount of total calories by the spoons so now I know that each large spoonful is so many calories.0

Oh and I only used 1tblsp of olive oil added in the total.0
