Exercise Journal/Log

Good morning MFP, I just started my weight training yesterday and I am looking for a workout log to help me with my progress. I know I can purchase one or I can make my own, my questions are what items are important that I need to ensure are included in the journal/log. I started with a personal trainer yesterday and especially in the beginning I will need to write down each exercise she has me complete so I will remember what to do the next time. Do you carry your journal/log with you or do you complete it after you workout. Do you have a small journal or a larger one. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thank you and have a great day!

I am surprised that your trainer didn't give you something, at least to get you started, but yes, it's important to keep track of what you are doing from session to session. I haven't personally tried any, but I know there are a lot of "apps" that you can use.

She suggested that I use a small notebook instead of spending money for an actual journal and I am sure she would sit down with me and help me prepare one. However, I would like to have something ready to go on Monday when we meet again and not use part of my hour working on the journal, I would rather spend the entire hour working out.

Thanks for the app idea, I will investigate some of those.
