I have been trying to lose weight since last year but the weight just doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I have been involved in a weight management program through Kaiser so I get weighted once a month and I seem to only be losing 1 to 2 pounds and month and that is kind of discouraging for me. My weight has been like a yo-yo lately. I have not been as active as I has been due to a car accident and I can actually say that I did not gain any extra pounds while I was incapacitated. It's been a struggle trying to get back on a routine but its a slow process.
What are so steps or suggestions to my issue??

Good job on not gaining despite the accident!

As far as weight loss? It's all about making sure you eat fewer calories than you burn. You're in the right place for that, MFP is a great tool for tracking calories.

Just log everything you eat and drink accurately--weigh solids, don't use volume measurements like cups or spoons.

It's easier said than done, but the method is simple.

How much weight do you want to lose? Slow weight loss is better than no weight loss.

If you do not have one, a good digital food scale is a must. Then learn to use it faithfully and log your foods religiously. I find if I log before I eat it helps me stay on track. Keep in mind that the foods in the database may not be accurate so keep looking until you find the one that is most accurate or add your own. Manufacturers change serving sizes so make sure you look at prepackaged foods. The real shocker to me was by weighing my (small to me) apple I found I was actually eating 2 servings. I find grams are more accurate to use in weighing because it is a smaller measurement. Make sure you are eating all your calories that is set by MFP for you and even eat back some of those workout calories when you are healthy enough to start exercising. Recovery from medical issues does not have to be the end of your plan to get healthier. Good luck. You can do this. Don't stress over it. It is a journey and will take a while.
