Newbie - 28yro Aussie Female - Weight loss challenge

Hi everyone,

I am new to the community and wanted to share my tale and ask for advice as to what I might be doing wrong

I am about to turn 28, am 6ft tall and currently weigh 82.1kg (down from 83.3)

I am on protein shakes (Hurleys Scultp) for breakfast and lunch, have 2 yoghurts a day and eat lean protein and carrot/zucchini for dinner. I eat the occasional piece of dark chocolate and fresh strawberries. All goes in myfitnesspal app.

I work out for about 40-60 minutes 5 times a week primarily cardio because I cannot afford a PT at this point to help me sort out a weights routine, and I get spooked by all the guys doing their macho routine with the dumb bells so I dont venture in there much.

Any advice how to lose weight quickly BUT healthily would be greatly appreciated.
(I am gluten free, fructose free and dont eat red meat)
(Used to be a runner and a rower at high school, tall athletic build)

Thanks guys! Eliza, Melbourne xo

I would recommend trying to keep as much lean body mass as possible while trying to lose fat. This may be against your goal though since it will not yield "fast" results. Eat at a minor defecit, I do the MFP 1 lb/week loss, incorporate both strength training and cardio, and make your diet something that you can stick to! The one pound/week may seem slow but the results are definately better than rapid weight loss!

    Good luck!
