My calorie goal is 1490. I walk everyday for at least 30 minutes to an hour and a half. But I eat more than 1490 calories, as long as I'm in the green I should lose weight right? I'm doing my best to track everything by measuring and weighing. I'm just not sure if I'm doing this right. Thanks

Your mfp counts your exercise so how more you exercises the more calories get added. I dont eat the exercise calories, but mfp tells you how many calories you can still eat everytime you log new calories that you ate, so with exercise u can eat more then what ur daily goal is. I hope this was helpful i am pretty new to it as well. i have heart that u need to burn 500 calories more then you eat in a day and that will make u lose 1 pound a week, i don't know if it is true, but it is working for me.

That's exactly what you should do. Eat the 1490 plus some of your exercise calories. And even if you go over, you'll likely still be in a deficit overall.

Don't eat back all of your calories everyday. I was just reading an article about how MFP gives the wrong impression in that area and it can actually cause you to gain or not lose weight

How many calories do you burn when you walk? Do you record it in the exercise section of the chart? MFP will recalculate and tell you how much extra you're allowed to eat after you log your exercise.
