I have been sick for a week and am starting to feel better, how long should I wait before working out again?

I think you are the only one who can answer this question.

Agree with other post. Unless I am completely in bad shape I try to work out lightly. It forces me to breathe heavier and my head congestion seems to feel much better after. I'm not going to lie, the first 20 minutes stinks.

I'd do half a workout and see how I feel the next day.

A nice stroll at the trail won't ever hurt try walking 1 mile lightly 1.5mph pace

Depends on what kind of "sick" and whether "better" means "no longer wishing I were dead" or "pretty much back to normal."

If you feel like you're up to it, try some light activity, and see how you feel later that day and the next. Don't go full throttle back to your regular routine.

In addition to the standard advice of "listen to your body", I'd add in that you should wait to do cardio until after your lungs are clear. I had a nasty bout of bronchitis this year that was exacerbated by trying to work my lungs too hard too soon. I'm guessing this is the reason for the "neck rule".

Agree with @goldthistime. I'm just getting over a cold that I think I made way worse by running every day, even though I was exhausted, allow your body to heal, light walks and fresh air are good. Pick back up once you are 100%.
