Right now just minimal pain.......must be the Norco. Anyway, I worked out hard leading up to this making sure I hit legs and calves hard to assist with a faster recovery time. Hoping for 3 weeks, but I'll be okay if it's 6 weeks.
This was an injury I incurred in January of 2016 where I almost detached my MCL and tore my menicus. My rehab for MCL went great as I was conservative with the approach and was back to squatting, leg pressing and leg curling at almost full strength as well as jogging by 6 months out. But there was still a small twinge when I did jumps or explosive movement (plyometrics) and didn't want to just "live" with it. No guarantee that it will completely fix the issue, but I'd rather remove all doubt.

    I'd run a faster 40, that's for sure.

Repair of menisectomy? I have had both. The repair took much longer to recover from and last 9 years or so. The partial menisectomy was a far shorter recovery, and is still going strong. Hope your healing is fast?

@ninerbuff That's one surgery where I would " Shop around " to make sure the surgeon had lots of experience - at least 40-50 surgeries on the knee/meniscus , based on results from friends who have had surgery..

The meniscus can be a nasty beast. Depending where the injury was some times a small tear will not heal and be a lifetime problem. I had a small tear 3 years ago and had to really concentrate on keeping my shoulders, hips and toes pointing in the same direction. If anyone of them was a little out of line I got a very sharp pain reminding me.
I had about 6 weeks of being very careful with no impact activities or twisting, another 6 weeks of keeping the range of motion limited to prevent re-injury. Even swimming was difficult as I had to do a no kick stroke.

Already putting some weight on it and pain is very mild. Range of motion is good too. I'll just keep conservative on rehab.

Goes to show how much our bodys are like cars. Some stay in the garage, and some get driven alot.
I hope you recover just fine. I was told I needed a anterior L5-S1 spinal fusion this week. Getting a second opinion first. :/

I almost complete tore off the MCL and of course tore my meniscus January of 2016. By May I was back to squatting, leg pressing and running with the MCL healing just fine, but still felt a small "twinge" in my knee. I let it go till January of this year when I got reassessed and decided to get the surgery done on my meniscus. I'm sure I could have started leg work earlier last year, but at my age, I'm being conservative. So far it's good because I've needed NO PAIN medication to cope with recovery.

2 week checkup after surgery today and doc was impressed so far with my recovery. Asked what I've been doing for rehab and told him just rowing machine and walking. Told me to continue and keep up with elevation and ice for a little longer. No stitches needed on my incisions and they are closed already. 4 more weeks of none resistance training, so I'll not be directly training legs till then. But am losing weight along the way because I'm actually trying to now.
