I've been practicing yoga for the past 12 years and I am 57 years old now. For the past year and a half, I have been doing yoga for about 35 minutes every single day to counteract my arthritis aches and pains all over my body. It works really well too. I also meditate for 15 minutes, twice daily and that helps greatly with the pain. It also keeps my weight stable, as does the daily yoga. I also practice piano for about an hour everyday to burn calories. My Body Mass Index has been stable over the past two years at around 22.5 so, that must mean I'm doing something right. I know I never drink my calories. I avoid alcohol and diet pop like the plague. And I track all my calories on MyFitnessPal.
Good luck everyone to your weight loss efforts!

So you play the piano to burn calories, and you avoid diet soda so as not to drink your calories..?

I love yoga and don't practice enough. I am really bad about putting strength training and cardio first. The only time I make yoga a priority is when my back or plantar fasciitis acts up. It works wonders on all those aches and pains.
