Hi guys it's dave here. This week I've been poorly let's just say and haven't been able to keep down majority of my food so I'm stuck on liquids.

The food that I'd thrown up , should I add that to my calorie diary or not/ leave it out? I've consumed the calories or not ?

18 stone trying to lose weight.

Thanks guys

There's no way of knowing how much you kept down, digested or absorbed...

I'd write the week off, and just get back to tracking when you're eating normally again. Hope you feel better soon - have you tried sticking to more plain foods that may stay down better?

Sick = maintenance for me. Calorie deficits can interfere with or slow healing. Sure, it's possible that I would heal just fine if I keep the deficit small, but why take chances?

Best of luck getting through whatever is it you're going through, and with your weight loss efforts.

Stay at maintenance and rest when you're sick. Nausea/vomiting may not let you eat for a few days- that's okay. Staying hydrated is more important. Get better soon.

When I'm sick, I don't worry too much about logging. I mean, I still log, but I don't worry about what I kept down or didn't. It's going to vary by how long you keep things down, what the food is, etc.

If you throw up and feel hungry later, then try to eat something (ideally something your stomach tolerates well). If you don't want to eat anything, just stay hydrated.
