Pretty much as the title says I am a chronic lunch skipper. I generally have cereal/porridge or eggs at breakfast and in the evening I eat the same as the rest of the family - just smaller portions/ extra veg etc. Yet lunch times I get stuck I'm not a fan of bread or bread products so try to avoid it. I have no idea what to have so I just end up skipping it and having a piece of fruit mid afternoon if I'm hungry. Anyone have any ideas of things I could have?

Do you mind skipping lunch, feel too hungry, overeat at dinner? No need to eat lunch -- I've thought often about just saving more calories for breakfast and dinner.

That said, my usual lunch is leftovers from dinners that same week, and I also really like salads with some protein on them, especially in the summer.

If you're not hungry, don't eat.

If you are hungry, eat breakfast things or leftovers from the night before?

I usually have a snack for lunch because I'm not usually hungry until dinner. I don't think it's bad to skip lunch as long as you are not starving yourself to do so.

One of my favorite lunches is fish and veggies with cheese or nuts. Like seared tilapia with steamed broccoli and cauliflower in cheese sauce.

I am hungry just when the only options in the house is biscuits, crisps etc I get stuck and just walk away rather than be tempted. I've never really eaten well and not getting much support from family - I don't do the shopping either and they don't see why they should buy different things for one person

Go with them when shopping so you can pick what you want for lunch. My daughter loves fruit, veg and nuts for her lunch so I am always buying cucumbers, celery, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, bananas, pineapples, pistachios, walnuts, hazelnuts etc. She's not big on bready things either. I think once you show them you will eat the food that is bought, they can't really refuse to buy it because it won't go to waste.
