Help people. My belly is divided into 3.

Hi everyone,
For the last four years I've been getting more and more frustrated about my stomach.
I am quite happy about the rest of me and according to my doctor I am the perfect weight for my height. ( 61 kg 5"5')
Basically my stomach seems to be divided into three parts, which are visible even when I stand. I know that everyone has rolls when they sit down, but I have been studying other people's belly for a long time now and have never seen anything like mine. If I try to grab my belly, it feels as if there is layer of tissue above my belly button attached and other one 4 cm higher which then crates these three rolls.
I know some of you might tell me to just lose weight, however when I was 20 which was 3 years ago, when my height was also 5"5' I weighed 58 kg and I still had these rolls when I stood up.
I have friends who are much bigger than mine but I always think that their belly looks better mine because its basically just one roll. Friends and family members have also mentioned it to me or if I mention to people that I am unhappy about it to which they say that I have a lovely figure. That is ofcourse until they see my belly and they normally look at me a bit baffled.
I know I need to do something about this because it is all I think about all the time. I have tried to find others with this problem but all I can find is women with separated muscles after pregnancy. I have not been pregnant.
I don't want to be skinny, I just want my stomach to not look weird.
I hope someone can give me some advice.
Thanks
Annabelle

It isn't so much losing weight that will make them go away. It's dropping to a low enough body fat %. I have a similar problem, just 2 rolls instead of 3 that I'm would like to get rid of. It's clear that I'm going to have to drop my goal weight a little more (I guesstimated a little on the high side) and then concentrate on body re-composition (more heavy lifting) to get that %BF down.

It sounds like it might be a quirk of your physiology. If you haven't mentioned it yet, I would tell your doctor exactly what you said here. You might be the perfect weight for your height, but if you're concerned or wondering if there's something different about your stomach muscles, the doctor will have better answers than us.

That will only go away if you lower your BF%. Not that you need to lose weight in general but you need to build some muscle up and replace some fat. Belly fat is always the hardest to deal with.

But like I mentioned before, even when I was very skinny and hardly had any fat on me whatsoever I still had this problem. I don't like the fact that in order to get rid of these rolls, I have to be really skinny and not have any fat on me.
I wonder if there is a surgical procedure that would sort this as I'm sure that the tissue is attached?

Unfortuantly everyone hold fat in a different place, women mainly hold there weight in the legs bums and tums. The main thing you can do is bring down your body fat %, have you had your bf calculated? There is a thing saying called skinny fat, its wear a person is at an ideal weight but there bf% is higher than normal.

This is due if the person has been on a diet, a loss of lean body mass as well as fat when loosing weight. The body will take both to use as fuel not in equal amounts but enough to not bring the bf% down enough.

The only way around this is to lift heavy and to lift hard. This basically gets the body to make bigger stronger muscle while burning some of the fat surounding it. This may increase your weight a little but your overall body will be smaller, because muslce pound for pound take up less volume than fat.

The only downside to this is you cant spot reduce, you might want to take all the fat off your stomach first but its down to your body, doing a million cruntches a day is going to reduce the fat on your stomach, a whole body lift and a minimul defict will gradually bring your overall bf% down enough to reduce your stomach.

Oh heck, I have a big fat scar straight down the middle of my belly (if you look at my pics, you might be able to see it - there's a reason I take 'em sideways!). That gives me not only a couple of rolls in my middle, but divides my belly in two as well!

It happens. It could be worse....MUCH worse. Learn to love your body and go with the flow...or "rolls" as the case may be. :)

See I undead about this body fat , however I know my body fat is 23 %which according to my doctor is fine.
So are you saying I need to get my body fat as low as possible in order to get rid of the rolls? Because in that case, that sucks as I love the rest of the way it is. :/

It's actually easier to lower your body fat than you might think: lift heavy! Take a look at the numerous threads on lifting heavy, start doing that, and watch your body fat% drop. In less than a month, mine has already dropped by over 0.75% and I think that's awesome!

Im not saying get it as low as possible, without know what your % is its hard to gauge how much you can lose. You could eaily bring it down to sup 20% and see how it looks then. I know you like the look of everything else atm but if you do full body training it will firm up all your muscle while bringing your bf% down.

    Just my 2 pence

So you mean I need to do weight training? I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Stronglifts 5x5 is a great starter program.

I used it to begin weight lifting, and it was extremely easy to learn and use.

Gosh yes me too! My scar and then a roll when I'm sitting down makes my tummy look like a hot cross bun!

If you want to bring your bf% down and maintain your weight, lifting and liftin heavy is the only way of doing it, have a look at the search function for lifting form beginners and start there. Don't worry about getting "bulky" its very difficult for females to bulk becuase they don't have the right amount/types of hormones.

LOL! *nodding and giggling* Yep! You just learn to "deal." My sister complained that she would never be able to wear a bikini again after having her children because of her stretch marks. I just gave her the finger and pointed at my scar, then told her where she could go put THAT notion! :)
